About Us
During and after COVID, Warrnambool was experiencing an extreme shortage of workers in disability and aged care. Every day, I saw people crying out for support workers. I really wanted to jump in and help people who were in need. However, my son was only three years old, and because of a lack of childcare, I simply couldn't apply for a job.
I still wanted to help. Then I met Jim Penman at a Franchisee Expo. I told him about my situation, and he suggested I look into Jim's Laundry because it was a very family-friendly business. A month later, I started Jim's Laundry — and because I couldn't leave my son behind, he came with me.
Together, we visited people living with disabilities and elderly people living independently in their own homes. We picked up their laundry, took it away to be professionally washed, dried and folded, and then returned it to them. Our clients loved seeing us.
What started as a laundry business quickly became something more. Sometimes it's clean clothes and fresh sheets. Sometimes it's helping someone remain more independent at home. And sometimes it's simply stopping for a friendly conversation and putting a smile on someone's face.
We're now ready to provide the same excellent service to Ballarat.
